The Taggerty MicroGrid

On February 15, 2018 the Murrindindi Climate Network Inc. in partnership with the Taggerty Community Progress Group Inc. lodged an application for a grant under the Microgrid Demonstration Initiative (DELWP) of the Victorian government for the establishment of a community owned MicroGrid at Taggerty. On the 13th of March MCN was invited for an interview with DELWP grant officers and is now awaiting for a result to be announced during April. If successful, this demonstration project will be set up over the next 3-4 years and hopefully will serve as a template for other communities in the Murrindindi Shire and beyond.
With a number of public information sessions held in 2017 and early 2018, this project has sparked considerable interest from community. The list of questions and answers below provides a brief overview of the project and its main characteristics.
